"Still Okay To Dream"
"Window Salesman"

How's the weather
where ya going?
Going shopping
Getting ready
'cause the weather will be wetter
come the 14th of November
That's my cut off
That's my summer
Finally ended
Consumated
And I'm facing into winter
so I finally called the salesman
Window Salesman
He came by here
Just this evening
With his witty window humor
And his briefcase
Full of pamphlets
Double sided
Quite expensive
While he measured
And remeasured
Said the salesman,"What do you do?"
As he wrote things on his clipboard
And assessed the situation.
Said my husband
"I'm a policeman
and my wife here,
She plays music. The piano."
"Why, that's special," said the salesman
"You could add a set of French doors.
See our showroom."
But I'm watching
as he's thinking
"Double dipping. Grown-up children
They seem willing
Sign the cheque please."
Buy the windows
Keep the chill out
Cause this winter
You'll be freezing
And I'm thinking
That I'd rather
be unfettered, but not sneezing.
Yes, I'd like a set of shutters.
Black, and lined with off-white borders
Brand new windows will be sellers
But it really might be better
If I went to Value Village
And I bought myself
a sweater.
